Dateline Moone Athy, Easter, 2009

A Video Revue for those unhappy few who missed the annual Easter celebration…

Many thanks to Sarah Fehlig, Charlie Judy, and Gina Osborn for the hard work putting this huge success together. The Management would greatly appreciate feedback from those who generously contributed provisions, including quantities supplied and the adequacy thereof. This will be recorded to facilitate next years efforts.

Contents approved by the Iowa Egg Council with the following proviso: correct spelling is ‘omelet’, not ‘omelette’

  1. What a delightful way to start a dreary Sunday; I especially enjoyed lively music! Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

  2. I’m somewhat biased, but I think the video is spectacular.
As for a food update, I’ve asked Gina to let us know what was leftover and what we had too little of. I think we ended up with 29 adults and 17 children.
With regard to the rolls, we brought 3 dozen and we probably could have had another half a dozen. The children don’t eat much, but they do eat the rolls.
Sarah Fehlig’s two leg of lambs were the right amount. Sarah suggested that we try to keep the children’s portions smaller as we threw away so much from their plates.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thank you contributors.

  3. Omelet, omelette; Iowans won’t haggle over the spelling. Just make sure the ketchup bottle is full.

  5. Gina reported that the desserts were all consumed as was the salad. She thought the amounts seemed just right, so whatever Helene brought worked for our numbers. With regard to desserts, I think there were 3 to 4, again the right amount for our numbers.
Hope this will help for future reference.

  6. Jennie reported on the asparagus consumption. She had 12 bunches with two left over plus a double portion of the blender hollandaise sauce in the Joy of Cooking. She thought that amount worked well for our numbers.

  7. Thank you, Uncle Bob, for a great video of the wonderful Easter celebration at the farm. What great footage of everyone, especially the new generation of egg hunters!
